Located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, Lily Pad Gallery draws guests inside with the desirable “unfinished warehouse” aesthetic to highlight a curated collection of fine art pieces.
To maximize the visibility into and throughout the space, our design team chose museum-quality soft and continuous illumination of the wall surfaces—leaving the art to draw the passerby inside. Once welcomed in, the warmth of the light transforms a previously dimly-lit warehouse into a bright, airy space suitable for showcasing the art on display.
To respect the historic brick structure, the perimeter gallery walls were designed to float above the floor—exposing the wall beyond and providing a neutral tone to contrast against the featured paintings.
